The Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva updated today (Tuesday) about the condition of 21-year-old Mia Regev, who was released from Hamas captivity last Saturday.
Dr. Assaf Aker, director of the orthopedic trauma unit in Soroka, said that "Mia arrived with a complex injury to her left leg as a result of the shooting on the Black Sabbath on the seventh of October. Upon her arrival, she was transferred to the trauma room in the hospital's emergency room, underwent a comprehensive medical evaluation, and her condition was defined as moderate. Upon her arrival, she was accompanied by a multi-professional team led by a senior doctor from the emergency room and a social worker from the social service at the hospital, who accompanied her closely and accompany her until this moment.
"Several hours after her arrival, she underwent surgery in which we treated all the components of her injury, stabilized the condition of the limb and fixed the fractures. Apparently, due to the complex injury, it will be necessary to perform additional surgeries to continue treating the complex fracture. And Mia is expected to undergo a significant rehabilitation process. We accompany Mia throughout the process, both in the treatment of her physical injury and in support and emotional therapy in order to help her deal with the shocking experience she went through and the road ahead of her."
At the end of his words, Aker said, "We wish for the speedy return of Itay, Mia's brother, and the return of all the abductees to Israel in full health of body and soul."
