At Simchat Torah during the terrible massacre by Hamas, there were those who took advantage of the situation to steal the property of the residents of the Gaza envelope. Today (Monday) early in the morning today, police forces in the center of the country raided the homes of seven suspects in the theft of the property and arrested them. As part of the operation, three tow trucks and two Land Cruiser vehicles were seized, which are suspected to have been used by those involved in the commission of the crimes.

The suspects, residents of the center of the country, were arrested for questioning at the central unit of the Negev region. On the basis of the evidence that will be collected against them, they will be brought today to a hearing at the Magistrate's Court in Be'er Sheva with a request to extend their detention.

The police spokeswoman said: "In addition to the current increased security activity, and providing a response to every 100 incidents within the boundaries of the district, the commander of the southern district, Superintendent Amir Cohen, ordered to uncompromisingly use all the necessary measures against crime phenomena, and property crimes committed by criminals who try to take advantage of the security situation in the Gaza envelope and commit criminal offenses, and in particular against criminals who loot, the property of the residents of the settlements who were evacuated from their homes, with the outbreak of the war against the terrorist organization Hamas."

"As part of the activity, an investigation was opened in the central unit of the Negev region upon receiving a report last month about the theft of a number of vehicles from localities surrounding Gaza while fighting was going on in the southern sector, which was used by families some of whom were evacuated from their homes after being saved from the massacre, and some of whom were murdered and kidnapped by the terrorist organization Hamas ".

"Upon receipt of the report, a special investigation team was established at the Negev District Attorney's Office, which operated openly and covertly, using all the necessary means, in order to track down the perpetrators of the crime and gather incriminating evidence against them. According to the suspicion, the suspects involved took advantage of the security situation that existed in the southern sector at the time of the outbreak of hostilities, and after the surrounding settlements were evacuated of their residents, they entered the scene under the pretext that they were in charge of evacuating damaged vehicles, where they loaded dozens of vehicles onto tow trucks and stole them from the scene."
