Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi announced on X/Twitter that Elon Musk agreed Starlink would operate in Israel, with his ministry's approval and conditions.

As Elon Musk visits Israel today (Monday), Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi announced on X/Twitter that Musk had agreed to place Starlink in Israel under Israeli oversight, including for communications in the Gaza Strip.

This agreement comes after Musk had proposed to make it available for humanitarian agencies in the Strip, leading to concerns within the Israeli government and among defense analysts that Hamas would exploit or extort humanitarian groups in the Strip to use Starlink for their own purposes.

Musk is set to meet with President Herzog and Prime Minister Netanyahu during his visit, as well as tour the Gaza Perimeter where the October 7 massacre occurred and meet with families of Hamas hostages.
