Dozens of residents from Kibbutz Meirav in the Gilboa, this morning (Sunday), block with their bodies the entry of Arabs from the neighboring villages into the kibbutz, after Central Command Major Yehuda Fox decided to approve the Arab harvest despite the war.
Residents of the kibbutz warned that the harvest was being used to carry out terrorist attacks and gather intelligence, but were ignored.
The unusual event takes place after a series of terrorist attacks and unusual events carried out by Arabs under the auspices of the olive harvesting in recent weeks, which revealed the fact that the harvesting is also used by the Arabs of Judea and Samaria to gather intelligence and carry out terrorist acts.
"Unfortunately, we learned last night that the General of the Conception Command, Yehuda Fox, gave an order to let Palestinians in to pick olives near our kibbutz," residents of the kibbutz said this morning. "This omission occurs at a time when dozens of residents of Meirav are in the reserves.
"The soldiers who were sent to secure the harvest are soldiers who enlisted in reserve service to protect the citizens of the State of Israel and were suddenly converted to protect Palestinian lives. We suggest to the commanding general to stop messing with the olive harvest and start drawing conclusions from October 7.
"For the past six months, we residents of Meirav have experienced non-stop shooting incidents by the terrorists from the village of Jilabun which have developed into explosives on the fence, and it only makes sense that the Arabs of the villages will take advantage of the current harvest to gather accurate intelligence on the kibbutz and possibly even carry out attacks under its auspices.
"This morning we gathered men, women and children, to prevent this foolishness with our bodies and to make it clear that the harvesting of the residents of the murderous village of Jilabun will not happen and the safety of the residents of Kibbutz Meirav will not be neglected," the residents said.
