The Sale of the 'Arrow 3' System to Germany has been Completed

Two months after Defense Minister Yoav Gallant went to Germany for the historic sale of the 'Arrow 3' system to Germany, the historic sale deal was completed.

Two months after Defense Minister Yoav Gallant went to Germany for the historic sale of the 'Arrow 3' system to Germany, today (Thursday) the historic sale deal was completed. The Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Major General (Res.) Eyal Zamir, signed the full contract for the sale of the system to Germany in the amount of over 13 billion NIS (about 3.6 billion dollars), thus completing the process that began with the trip to Germany.

The limited signing ceremony at the Ministry of Defense was attended by the German ambassador to Israel, Steffen Seibert, German Defense Attaché Captain, Col. Volker Gelhausen, head of the directorate for research, development of weapons and technological infrastructure, Brigadier General (Res.) Dr. Danny Gold, director general of the Aerospace industry, Boaz Levy, head of the 'Homa' Directorate, Moshe Fattal, head of the finance department at the Ministry of Defense, accountant Dekel Cohen and other senior officials.

'Arrow 3' is an air defense system at the forefront of global technology, to intercept ballistic missiles in space, outside the atmosphere. During the war, the 'Arrow 3' system carried out the first operational interception, ever, when it destroyed a target fired at Israel in the Red Sea.

Following the signing, billions of NIS will be poured into the start of production in the aerospace industry and in dozens of other defense industries in Israel, which are partners in the project. According to the contract, the first battery of 'Arrow 3' will be delivered to the German Ministry of Defense at the end of 2025. Alongside the main effort to support the longevity and building of the IDF's strength, the Ministry of Defense and the Directorate for Research and Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure are committed to the strategic cooperation with international partners, to the continued strengthening of the defense industries and to the support of their and the State of Israel's international obligations.

The 'Arrow 3' system is jointly developed and manufactured by the 'Homa' Directorate of the Directorate for Research and Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure and the American Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The Israeli Aerospace Industries is the main contractor for the development of the weapon system, the 'Arrow' interceptors and the detection radars. The company 'Elbit Systems' develops the command and control system. The government company for rocket propulsion systems - 'Tomer' and the Rafael company are main subcontractors for the development and production of the 'Arrow 3' interceptor.
