"Relief and Pain"

IDF Spokesman: "The Next Few Days will Include Moments of Relief and Moments of Pain"

Ahead of the release of the abductees from the Gaza Strip, the IDF spokesman said that the forces are preparing for the truce days and clarified that "the coming days will be characterized by moments of relief and pain. There can also be attempts at psychological terror on the part of the enemy - avoid spreading rumours.

Just before the beginning of the cease-fire in Gaza and the release of the abductees from the Strip, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari made a statement to the media this evening (Wednesday) in which he referred to today's events in preparation for the cease-fire that is expected to begin tomorrow.

"We are preparing for the implementation of the first phase of the plan for the return of the abductees. The IDF is conducting an orderly procedure for the reception of the abductees, while the headquarters have completed assessments for the implementation of the plan," Hagari said. "During these hours we continue to prepare, we have the duty to do everything to return all the abductees to their homes. This is a complex process, which is not yet closed and may take time and continue in several stages. Our principle was and remains - to update the families first and only then the public."

According to him, "The next few days will be characterized by moments of relief and pain. There may also be attempts at psychological terrorism on the part of the enemy - avoid spreading rumors, and listen to official sources only. Today the Chief of Staff held a situation assessment and approved the war plans and phases, and in particular the preparedness for the coming days."
