IDF: Gaza Perimeter Residents Can Return to Settlements Four Kilometers From Border

Rear Command has announced that with the progress of the military operation, thousands of residents of the south can return to their homes in specified places.

With the war entering its 46th day, the IDF has announced that thousands of Gaza Perimeter residents can return home.

In a document released today by the Rear Center in Southern Command, the IDF stated that “due to the progress in the fighting and the change of the operational situation … residents living permanently in settlements spread out 4+ kilometers from the fence with the Strip can return to their homes for an unlimited period of time.”

The document then states that farm work east of road 232 will be allowed on an unlimited basis, while farm work west of the road requires coordination with the IDF. Road 232 runs from the Saad junction opposite Gaza City to the Egyptian border, and runs through Be’eri, Re’im, Magen, and the settlements of the Eshkol Regional Council.
