National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir criticized Defense Minister Yoav Gallant today (Thursday) for the administrative arrest warrant he issued against a Jewish youth, about 22 years old, a shepherd, resident of Binyamin.
Ben-Gvir tweeted on his X (Twitter) account: "The enemies are not the settlers. The enemies are the Nazis from Gaza and the terrorists who went out to kill today in Jerusalem. I think someone is confused."
Although he did not mention the name of the Minister of Defense in the tweet, he attached the arrest warrant signed by Gallant.
The warrant orders the arrest of the settler for a period of 5 months, it was given to the settler shortly before a hearing that was expected to take place in his case in court, but instead, he was given an administrative arrest warrant.
This is a second administrative arrest warrant against a settler that was signed by Minister Gallant during Operation Swords of Iron.
As may be recalled, an additional four-month arrest warrant was issued by Minister Gallant about two weeks ago against Yitzhar resident, right-wing activist Ariel Danino, married and father of children.
The Honenu organization, which represents the settlers, said: "Real system madness. Good guys, real salt of the earth, are thrown as the last of the terrorists into administrative detentions, without any evidence from Defense Minister Gallant, to put the Americans' minds at ease."
The largest democracy in the world for whom this is a procedure contrary to the law, the constitution and the system of democratic government, all this at a time of multi-arena war in the north, in the south and in Judea and Samaria. A disgrace."
