The Arab states of the Persian Gulf led by Saudi Arabia are expanding their efforts to aid Gazan civilians as war continues between Israel and Hamas in the Strip.

According to a report by Seth Frantzman of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, Saudi Arabia is sending convoys by land and air to the Strip, with the first land convoy expected to pass through Rafah this Sunday.

Meanwhile, the UAE is preparing to set up an elaborate field hospital to help replace the hospitals in the northern Strip to which evacuees in the south do not have access due to the ongoing fighting.

According to the UAE, the field hospital will include “departments for general surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, and gynaecology, in addition to anaesthesia and intensive care units catering to both children and adults. The facility will also house clinics for internal medicine, dentistry, psychiatry, and family medicine.”
