Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today (Wednesday) visited the training base of the Home Front Brigade and the training base of the rescue and training brigade located in Zikim.
During the visit, Netanyahu received an overview of the battle that took place in several arenas at the same time, at the Zikim base on the Saturday of October 7, and also heard from the commander of the rescue and training brigades, Col. Elad Edri, from the commander of the training base of the home front brigade, Lt. Col. Dan Harosh, and the men and women of the brigade about the heroic stories of the fighters and the seven who fell in battle. The Prime Minister also received an overview of the brigade's activities in general and in the "Swords of Iron" war in particular.
"I am here at the Zikim base with the staff instructors and the recruits who fought a heroic battle here against terrorists who came to murder them - and they did a fantastic job here," Netanyahu said. "Ron, she kept her head straight, even though she received a bullet in her head - but everything is fine, thank God. Commanders who led a battle here, unfortunately some of their friends fell here, but they did the job and made a great rescue - in mobilizing, calling for battle, attacking terrorists. There was a great deed here. It reflects our spirit, the spirit of our fighters - not only in the containment battle but in the ground assault now inside Gaza."
He also added and told the fighters: "Do you remember when they told us not to break into Gaza? We broke through. They told us not to reach the outskirts of Gaza City - we arrived. They told us not to enter Shifa - we entered. And in this spirit we say a simple thing - there is no place in Gaza that we will not reach. There is no hiding, there is no shelter, no refuge for the murderers of Hamas. We will come and eliminate Hamas and return our abductees - these are two sacred missions."
"Yesterday evening I spoke with President Biden again," Netanyahu concluded. "We are not giving up, we will eliminate Hamas and achieve a complete victory and return our abductees. With your help and God's help. Thank you very much."
