The Swords of Iron War enters its 38th day. IDF forces are deepening their hold on the Gaza Strip, and today (Monday) the IDF reported that forces belonging to the 188th Brigade battle team eliminated a terrorist squad in the vicinity of the al-Quds Hospital, firing at IDF forces near its entrance.
The IDF Spokesperson stated that “During the activity of 188th brigade combat team, RPG and light firearms were fired towards an IDF force from the entrance to the al-Quds Hospital in the city of Gaza. The fire was carried out by a terrorist squad which merged with a group of citizens at the entrance to the hospital. The forces managed to identify a squad of terrorists among the civilians with two RPG launchers. The force fired toward the terrorists. During the exchange of fire, civilians were observed abandoning the hospital structure, and additional terrorists leaving buildings in the area merged with them, and joined the attempted attack.”
“After the terrorists activated the RPG, they returned to hide in the hospital area. Forces of the brigade combat team including armored, engineering, and infantry forces and with the support of the Air Force responded with live fire and shells towards the source of the fire. 21 terrorists were eliminated in the event, our forces suffered no casualties. This event is another example of the ongoing exploitation of sensitive sites, including hospitals, by Hamas for the sake of firing towards IDF forces.”
