Defense Minister Yoav Gallant arrived over the weekend for a tour of the northern border, where the forces are on standby against Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon. The Defense Minister stated that "Hezbollah is close to making a grave mistake."
Ahead of Hassan Nasrallah's second speech since the beginning of the war, the leader of the terrorist organization Hezbollah disappointed his believers in the previous speech, now Minister Gallant arrived at the northern border, and made it clear that Hezbollah is playing with fire, and that the residents of Beirut may bear the consequences.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant recently completed a situation assessment in the Galilee formation, near the Lebanese border, together with the commander of the 91st division, Brigadier General Shai Klapper, the commander of the Hiram formation, Major General Avi Marciano, and the commanders of the battalions in the brigade.
At the end of the assessment of the situation, Minister Gallant clarified that Hezbollah is close to making a mistake that should not be made and explained: "I came here to assess the situation in light of Hezbollah's aggression - this is no longer provocations. I see a high-quality and correct response by the forces, which results in Hezbollah casualties. We continue to hit it."
The Minister of Defense added and explained that the damage would not be only in southern Lebanon and said: "I am saying here to the citizens of Lebanon, I already see the citizens in Gaza walking with white flags along the coast and moving south. Hezbollah is dragging Lebanon into a war that may happen, and it is making mistakes. If it makes mistakes of this kind here, the ones who will pay the price are first of all the citizens of Lebanon. What we are doing in Gaza we know how to do in Beirut."
The Defense Minister made sure to explain that the IDF is capable of containing the fighting against Hezbollah if it chooses to open another front: "Our pilots are sitting in the cockpit, the noses of the planes are pointing north. We have enough to do everything we need in the south, but the Air Force is pointing north and its strength is very big."
Gallant threatened and stated that "we did not use even ten percent of the strength of the air force in Gaza".
