A red alarm was sounded this evening (Thursday) in Eilat and the surrounding area. Later it was said that the "Arrow" system intercepted a missile that was launched towards Eilat. MDA said that teams went out to search scenes where falls were reported, but at this stage no injuries were reported.

The IDF spokesperson stated that "a missile was detected that was launched into the territory of the State of Israel and was successfully intercepted in the Red Sea area, by air defense fighters using the long-range defense system 'Arrow.' The target did not cross into Israeli territory."

The current shooting comes after earlier today an unmanned aerial vehicle hit a school in Eilat, while the identity of the vehicle and the details of the incident are under investigation. Medics and paramedics provided medical treatment to 7 anxiety victims, but no bodily injuries were reported.

Documentation of the drone strike in Eilat

Apparently this is an explosive drone that was launched towards the school. It exploded in the school yard and miraculously the event ended with only 7 anxiety victims. Damage was caused to the walls of the school and a hole was opened in the outer wall. This is the first time that an explosive drone hits a civilian target in Israeli territory.
