Residents of Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut, Hashmona'im and Modi'in Illit, suffered a power outage today (Wednesday) as a result of damage to an underground cable of the electricity company caused by the contractor "A.M.C. Shemesh Works Development and Earth Ltd.", and the subcontractor "Uri Nachmani and Co. Drilling Ltd.", who is responsible for drilling works.

The Electricity Company will file a legal claim for the damages. The contractor "A.M.C. Shemesh Works Development and Earth Ltd." and the subcontractor "Uri Nachmani and Co. Drilling Ltd." carried out excavations and drilling and damaged an underground cable of the Electricity Company which caused a power outage for the residents of Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut, Modi'in Ilit and Hashmona'im. Reinforced teams of the Electricity Company immediately arrived on the ground and are making efforts to repair the damages and restore the electricity supply as soon as possible.

The Electricity Company will file a lawsuit against the offending contractors, who not only caused operational and financial damage to the Electricity Company, but also caused a power outage for residents who have to face hours without electricity. Damage of contractors to the underground electricity network has become an unfortunate and common phenomenon, which can be avoided if the contractors are coordinated with the Electricity Company. In this way, the Electricity Company will be able to continue to provide reliable, available and high-quality electricity to its customers and operational and financial damages will be avoided.
