Last evening (Tuesday), the IDF Spokesperson addressed the continued fighting in Gaza, stating that IDF commanders bear responsibility for what happened that Shabbat.
Hagari: “Over 14,000 targets were destroyed”
The IDF Spokesperson began by addressing the continued fighting in the Gaza Strip: “The power of the Air Force and the Navy, the intelligence with the ground forces who are now in a ground action deep in the city of Gaza are applying pressure,” he said.
Brig.-Gen. Hagari then provided a summary of the results of the war so far: “In this month, we attacked over 14 Hamas targets, we destroyed over 100 shafts of terror tunnels and over 4000 weapons, many of them inside kindergartens, mosques, and apartment buildings, attesting to Hamas’ cynical use. There is no cease fire, we are going forward, focused on the operation in Gaza, in the north we are at high readiness, in the Red Sea, we are ready for any scenario we will require.”
He then addressed the Rear Command application and spoke of the spirit of the soldiers in the field. “We are doing a number of adjustments in the Rear Command, I call for using the different platforms to receive all the updates. I speak a lot with soldiers in the field and the commanders that lead them; they prove their bravery and their courage every day.”
“So far, we have informed the families of 348 IDF soldiers who died in battle defending Israel, who are joined by 59 fallen Israeli Police and 10 Shin Bet officers.”
In response to a question by Moriah Asraf Goldberg of Channel 13 News, Hagari addressed the question of hospitals in the Strip: “I am happy to hear of the effort the Emirates are making and coming into the field with the intent of establishing a field hospital, south of Gaza River, along with the Egyptians and led by them and they are absorbing their wounded. They can arrive from hospitals where terror infrastructure operates. Hamas terrorists fired from the Qatari hospital intentionally. We will not fall into this trap.”
