With Hands Up and White Flags Waving: Gazan Residents Flee

The IDF released footage of Gazan citizens fleeing the city in the hundreds and thousands, making things hard for Hamas. Watch:

Israel’s war enters its 32nd day.

The IDF once again allowed Gazan residents to leave the city this morning (Tuesday) and head to the southern Gaza Strip.

Hundreds and perhaps thousands made their way on foot, holding up their hands and waving white flags. IDF tanks secured the journey south, to prevent Hamas from harming those fleeing. The Arabs moving south are not allowed to ride in vehicles or take large bags with them, as these might contain weapons or even the hostages.

IDF Spokesperson for Arabic Aryeh Edri appealed to the Arabs of Gaza: “If you care about yourself and your loved ones, leave south according to our instructions. Be assured that Hamas leaders have already taken care to protect themselves.”

Yesterday, Srugim/Jfeed reported that the IDF considers the flight of Gazan Arabs to be a problem for Hamas, which hoped to use its civilians as human shields. Even now, most Hamas command posts are hidden under hospitals in Gaza City, towards which the IDF is advancing steadily.
