Many Knesset members criticized MK Iman Khatib-Yassin for her statements in which she denied the events of October 7th and claimed that Hamas did not slaughter infants or rape women.
Minister of Justice Yariv Levin wrote, "I was horrified by the severe statements of MK Iman Khatib-Yassin, which contain her denial of the terrible massacre committed by Hamas terrorists on October 7th.
"Just a few days ago, even before the remarks made by MK Iman Khatib-Yassin, I instructed legal professionals at the Ministry of Justice to draft a bill that will prohibit denial of the massacre and establish severe penalties for those who do so."
MK Ohad Tal from the religious Zionist faction also responded to Yassin and compared her to Holocaust deniers: "Denying the heinous acts of Hamas is just as severe as Holocaust denial. I watched the horrific footage released by the IDF spokesperson on the Black Saturday events. The accursed Nazis slaughtered and burned children, violated women, and murdered them.
"Iman Khatib-Yassin is a disgrace to humanity, and every second she serves as a member of the Knesset in Israel is a disgrace to all of us."
Minister Hili Tropper also criticized the Knesset member and commended Ra'am for demanding her resignation. He said, "The statements made by Knesset member Yassin are an outrageous disgrace. It is forbidden to deny or downplay the horrors and the heinous massacre committed by Hamas terrorists against children, women, men, and the elderly.
"The Ra'am leadership did well to inform Knesset member Yassin that she must resign. She has no place in the Israeli Knesset."
