Four weeks into the war and a week after the ground incursion began, the Chief of Staff, General Herzi Halevi, conducted a situation assessment today (Saturday) with the soldiers in the Gaza Strip. In his remarks, he praised the forces and said, among other things, "Stay strong, I'm proud of you."

"We're looking at three things. On Saturday, four weeks ago at this very hour, terrible things happened - what happened is still with us," said Halevi. "We need to know that we're bringing it to a close. I also commend the artillery units, the local collection teams, the Air Force, and the work of the commanders in this coordination. I also tour the Air Force, and they also feel great with you and connect with you correctly.

"I understand that it's very complex. Go, help people to learn, and strengthen everyone's spirit," he added. "I'm very proud of the people and proud of you. We will continue to stay updated, well done."
