An unusual firing from the Gaza Strip: Red alert sirens were heard this evening (Saturday) in the Arava settlements, including Yotvata, Grofit, Ketura, Shacharut, Shitim, Neve Hatif, Yahel, Lotan, and Naot Smadar. These are areas that have not previously experienced rocket fire during the war.

Hamas claimed that they launched an "Ayyash" rocket towards Eilat, capable of reaching a range of 250 kilometers - the longest range reached so far. The IDF reported that one launch was identified from within the Gaza Strip and was intercepted by the "Arrow" system of the air defense system.

The unusual firing occurred after a siren was heard in Eilat this morning, but upon inspection, it turned out to be a false alarm. According to the IDF spokesperson, the systems identified a suspicious target that approached Israeli territory.
