Defense Minister Yoav Gallant arrived today (Wednesday) at the assembly area of Division 36 near the Gaza border. The minister conducted an operational situational assessment of the ground activity carried out by the division in the territory of Gaza, took note of preparation and readiness for the continued manuever, and received a survey of the forces’ achievements in eliminating terrorist squads and destroying terrorist infrastructures.
The situational assessment was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff Maj.-Gen. Amir Baram, Maj.-Gen. Itay Veruv, as well as Brig.-Gen. Dado Bar-Kalifa, Brig.-Gen. Ofer Winter, and other senior officers of Division 36.
Defense Minister said at the end of the situational assessment that “I met the IDF soldiers on the border of the Gaza Strip, I hear the reports, and am impressed by the actions of the forces. This is a determined, decisive action, there is very strong cooperation between land and air forces, between the systems from the sea, from the air, and in general towards their targets.”
“I want to express great appreciation of the forces’ performance. There are very important achievements on the ground – we’re hitting terrorists of all ranks, from those fighting in the field to the level of the commanders. The action of the IDF is leading to the exposure of the tunnels, the departure of the terrorists outside and the serious blows they are suffering.”
“Unfortunately, there are also costs on our side, as happens in every battle. We are continuing at full strength. I want to express appreciation for all forces, from the Chief of Staff to the fighters on the ground.”
