Egyptian media reported that after establishing a field hospital, Egypt will open Rafah crossing for the first time for the Palestinian wounded.

24 days into Operation Swords of Iron, Rafah crossing has thus far only been open for movement of humanitarian aid from Egypt into Gaza, not the reverse. Tomorrow (Wednesday), following the establishment of a field hospital on the Egyptian side of the border, Egypt will open Rafah crossing for the Palestinian wounded, according to reports in the Egyptian media.

Since the beginning of the war, over 200 trucks carrying water, medicine, and food have entered the Gaza Strip.

Egyptian media has also reported calls by Egyptian public figures to return thousands of refugees from northern Sinai in the cities of Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid, as part of an effort to stop what they call a plan “to forcibly transfer Palestinians from the Strip.”
