In the wake of reports of fierce battles taking place between IDF forces and terrorists in the Gaza Strip, the IDF Spokesperson allowed it to be reported that two soldiers have been killed in battles in the north of the Strip.

For the first time since the ground operation into the Gaza Strip, and the infiltration of IDF forces deep into the northern part of the Strip, two IDF soldiers were killed in the fierce fighting taking place within the Gaza area against Hamas terrorists.

The two fallen soldiers are 20-year-old First Sergeant Roey Wolf of Ramat Gan, and 20-year-old First Sergeant Lavi Lifshitz of Modiin-Maccabim-Reut. Both soldiers were of the Givati Recon unit and fell in the northern Gaza Strip.
