IDF Spokesperson publishes the attack order of the Southern Command's Commander, Major General Yaron Finkelman, to the ground forces operating in the Gaza Strip.
The General opens with the following statement: "Southern Command stations, this is the commander. We are embarking on an attack against Hamas and the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip. Our goal is one: victory. No matter how long the battle will be, no matter how difficult, there is no other outcome but victory."
He continues to describe the battle: "We fight with professionalism and strength according to the values of the IDF that we were trained in, with a commitment to the mission and a determination for victory. We will fight in the streets, we will fight in the tunnels, we will fight wherever necessary. We will strike down the heinous enemy we face."
And finally, Finkelman concludes with words of encouragement to the soldiers: "My brothers in arms, the residents of Be'eri, Sderot, Nir Oz, Kfar Aza, the settlements in the western Negev, and all of the people of Israel, they are all looking at us now. Like me, they also rely on you and believe in you. You are the generation of victory. Here is the command, move on to your missions, strike the enemy. End."
