A short time ago, the following information was released for publication: during the ground maneuvers in Gaza tonight, soldier Prv. Ori Megidish, taken captive by the Hamas terrorist organization on 7/10, was freed by Israeli forces.

The Shin Bet stated that “the soldier was medically examined, her situation is good and she met with her family.” They also stated that “The IDF and the Shin Bet will continue to make every effort to bring about the release of the hostages.” Megidish was an intelligence observer taken captive at the Nachal Oz outpost.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu surveyed the fighting in the south before ministers at the weekly government meeting, stating that the ground manuever creates options for freeing the hostages.

As he put it, “We are in the midst of the war. We have set a clear goal of destroying the military and governmental capabilities of Hamas. We are doing these things systematically. First of all, the blocking stage has ended. The second stage, pounding from the air which continues all the time. The third stage, the IDF has expanded its ground entry into the Gaza Strip, it does so in measured steps, very powerful, continuing systematically step by step.”
