Israel is at war. This morning (Monday), a police officer was seriously injured in a stabbing attack near a train station in Jerusalem. The terrorist was neutralized, and Magen David Adom (MDA) forces are providing medical treatment to the seriously injured person at the scene.
The terrorist, a resident of East Jerusalem, arrived armed with a knife at the Mandelbaum gas station in Jerusalem. He stabbed a Border Police officer in the upper body, and after grabbing his weapon and unsuccessfully trying to shoot, he fled the scene.
IDF soldiers who were at the scene approached the terrorist at close range and neutralized him by shooting. Subsequently, the knife that was suspected to have been used in the attack was found at the scene. Among the police officers who responded at the scene was Meir Gabai, the father of Mor, hy"d, who was killed by Hamas terrorists in Sderot on the first day of the war.
Pinchas Butz and Eli Avraham, paramedics from United Hatzalah, said, "When we arrived at the scene, we encountered a victim of a stabbing with an upper-body injury. We provided initial medical assistance at the scene, and afterwards, he was taken to the hospital by a police ambulance, and his condition is currently defined as severe."
From Shaare Zedek Medical Center, it was reported: "A victim from the attack in Shivtei Yisrael in his early 30s was brought to the Trauma Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center. The victim is in critical and stable condition with upper-body injuries. After an initial assessment, he was transferred for imaging and further treatment."
