Settlers Removed Signs Prohibiting Driving in Huwara. Watch

Signs were placed at the entrance to the village of Huwara, prohibiting the entry of Jews because it is Area A under Palestinian control. According to the Oslo Accords, the village is considered Area B. The angered settlers removed the signs, and the IDF removed the second one.

No entry for Israelis. The sign in Huwara

Huwara Road, the main road between the Tapuah Junction and the settlements of the Samarian Mountain Range, is closed to the entry of Israelis, according to signs placed on Highway 60 this morning.

On the red signs that prohibit the entry of Israelis, it is written: "This road leads to Area A under Palestinian Authority control. Entry for Israelis is prohibited and endangers your lives and constitutes a criminal offense."

In addition to this being one of the main roads in Samaria, according to the Oslo Accords, the village of Hawara is not Area A but rather Area B, under Israeli security control, and entry for Israelis is allowed.

A similar failure was made by an IDF spokesperson a few months ago when they alerted Israelis entering the village of Turmus Ayya in front of Shiloh, which is in Area C.

No entry signs in Huwara

The settlers suspect that the signs were most likely placed in anticipation of the opening of a bypass road around Hawara in the coming weeks, but it is still an unclear and perplexing move.

IDF officials say that this is a mistake and point the finger at Netivei Yisrael (National Transport Infrastructure Company).

Either way, residents from Samaria removed the sign:

After about an hour, the IDF removed the second sign:

Even before the removal, the head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, announced that if the signs were not removed within two hours, he would officially arrive as the head of the Samaria Regional Council to remove them himself.

According to him: "It turns out that there are senior officials who have learned almost nothing from the massacre that took place in the south, and not only did they not turn the tables, but in a delusional manner, and without speaking they are taking a step that means a clear risk for thousands of Jews who are traveling on the road. I say this clearly. If these irresponsible signs are not removed In two hours, I, as head of the Samaria Regional Council, will officially arrive and remove the signs in broad daylight. No one will abandon the safety of the people of Samaria! Not on my watch! The blood of the people of Samaria will not be wasted!"

"This is exactly the conception that brought upon us the terrible massacre in Gaza Strip envelope"

At the "Fighting for Life" headquarters, they attacked: "Despite the terrible massacre in the Gaza Strip envelope, the security establishment refuses to change the same damned concept. It is not possible that during a war a prize would be awarded to a Nazi village in the form of removing Jews from its territory."

"Unfortunately, the IDF is once again blatantly lying and preventing movement of Jews under false pretenses. This is exactly the concept that brought upon us the terrible massacre in the Gaza Strip envelope, which holds that instead of dealing with the dangerous enemy, the victim should be kept away and imprisoned behind fences - while the area remains abandoned for the benefit of the enemy. This is a national disgrace of the first degree and we will fight it with all our might," the headquarters said.
