State Camp party chairman and limited security cabinet member Minister Benny Gantz gave a statement to the press, addressing the war Israel is currently fighting.

In his statement, Gantz said that “we are conducting the war in a way that allows us to realize our political and military goals. We are advancing the continuation of the campaign and readiness for escalating the attack against Hamas on all the fronts as much as needed. The campaign will soon enter additional stages and at greater intensities.”

He addressed the captives issue, saying “the return of the captives and the missing is an inseparable part of the war effort,” and that “we are working to maintain international legitimacy and are deepening relations with our ally, the United States.”

“I visit and embrace the families of the fallen, the murdered, the captives and the missing to whom our heart goes out. Despite the difficult and cruel starting conditions, we cannot remain indifferent to the many heroes among us. Israeli society is revealing itself in glory and at full strength.”

“The danger of annihilation will not be our lot, but that of those who wish us ill”

“We as a leadership are aware of the difficulties and effects of the continued fighting on all of us. The only consideration before us is victory, changing the strategic situation in the south and returning our sons and daughters, while continuing our activity. The fighting against terror in the Gaza area will continue everywhere and at any time needed to ensure security for the settlements. The danger of annihilation will not be our lot but that of those who wish us ill.”

Responding to questions, Gantz said “everyone who was a partner to the leadership of the State of Israel cannot remove responsibility from himself and also me – I do not free myself from responsibility.”

He addressed his entry into the government, saying “I didn’t engage in politics when entering the emergency government. Just as I knew when to enter, I will know when to leave. I am here until six after the war. The limited cabinet is running well.”
