The Defense Minister conversed with the soldiers and heard from them about the courageous battles they conducted against Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip periphery. Minister Galant commended them for their actions in eliminating dozens of terrorists and emphasized that significant operations are expected, with an expansion of combat.

Defense Minister Yoav Galant discussed with the soldiers about their experiences and the objectives planned for the continuation of the fighting: "Battles of this kind, on this scale, haven't been seen since '73. The unit fought in Ma'alot, in Misgav, and in many other places, but here, there was a long series of tough battles. The combat and heroic performance of the IDF soldiers, represented by Sayeret Matkal, exemplify the quality of this matter and deter the enemy.

"Your comrades fell in defense of the homeland, and you will fight for its future. We are proud of what you have done, and we rely on you for the expansion of the battle. Prepare and get ready—there will be more missions, the war has only just begun, and unfortunately, there will be costs."

"We will enter the territory and eliminate Hamas. Quite simply, as it sounds – otherwise, we will not have a presence here – that's a condition."
