Chen Zander, a reporter for Channel 13 News who lost her sister Noah in the horrific massacre at the Re’im party, is back at work and reporting from the Channel 13 News station in Ashkelon.

In an interview with Noga Nir Neeman, Zander said: “The decision to continue and broadcast was pretty clear. It was a question of time, because I knew this is something I need to do first and foremost for myself and also for Noah.”

Zander added: “In the last two weeks, we’re learning to get used to a new life, deal with a new life – a life in which the heart is broken, where there is a very large pit in the home and by each and every one of us. Just as we learn to get used to a new and terrible reality, a very great nightmare we have encountered, so it is by very many families in the State of Israel.”

On her decision to return to work now, Zander said: “She very much liked what I did and was proud of our work on TV and the news. One of the things she would very much like me to do is to return to what makes me feel good, what fills me, what allows me to deal with the ever so complicated situation.”

“Every one of us in the studio and in the field do what we do not only for us, but also to mediate the difficult reality outside for the people watching us and I think this is my way to cope. Noah is always with me and with each one of us and will continue to be. I feel this is my way to deal with this new reality, to head south. I feel here is where I need to be.”
