Following continuous rocket fire by the terrorist organization Hezbollah towards Israel from Lebanon, this morning (Sunday), the National Emergency Authority and the IDF announced the addition of 14 more settlements to the plan for the evacuation of northern residents funded by the state.

The addition of the settlements was approved by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and the Northern Command recently informed the heads of the councils about the decision. The plan will be managed by the local authorities, the Ministry of Tourism, and the National Emergency Management Authority within the Ministry of Defense. The 14 settlements added to the plan are: Snir, Dan, Beit Hillel, Sha'ar Yishuv, Hagoshrim, Leman, Matzuva, Ilon, Goren, Granot Hagalil, Even Menahem, Sasa, Tzivon, and Ramot Naftali.

Last weekend, the government approved the expansion of the evacuation of settlements in the north from a range of 2 kilometers to 5 kilometers from the border. The decision was made through a telephone vote, in accordance with the guidance of the Defense Minister. The Ministry of Defense clarified that the government's decision, which was approved, empowers the Defense Minister and the IDF to evacuate the settlements located within a range of 2-5 kilometers from the Lebanese border in an organized manner, based on the assessment of the situation.
