"Here was the home of al-Arouri, which turned into the headquarters of Abu al-Namar from the Shin Bet," reads the sign posted on the wall of the house of Salah al-Arouri, who is responsible for the military wing of Hamas in Judea and Samaria and is the Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas. He is considered the number 2 figure in Hamas in Judea and Samaria.
During the weekend, the Binyamin Division conducted a wide-ranging counterterrorism operation against Hamas operatives in the village of Aroura, where al-Arouri resided. The soldiers seized the house of al-Arouri and transformed it into the command post for the IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) for the purpose of intelligence gathering and arresting wanted individuals.
The IDF reported: "In a wide-ranging counterterrorism operation in the village of Aroura in the Binyamin Division, IDF soldiers and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) interrogated dozens of suspects and arrested 19 prominent Hamas operatives, including close relatives of the senior Hamas terrorist organization figure in Judea and Samaria, Salah al-Arouri. His house served as a command post for security forces during those hours. The forces left after 3 hours."
