Chief of Staff to Golani's Commanders: "Preparing Surprises for the Enemy"

The Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, arrived at the assembly areas and held discussions with the commanders of the Golani Brigade who are preparing in the field.

The Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, arrived at the southern border and conducted a briefing with commanders in the field in preparation for the incursion into Gaza. During the discussion with the commanders of the Golani Brigade, Lieutenant General Halevi explained to them what they can expect in the fighting within the Gaza Strip and how the battle will unfold in the territory ahead of them. He clarified to the commanders that the fighting in Gaza is complex, the Gaza Strip is densely populated and urban, and the terrorists are preparing and will use surprises to the best of their abilities against the forces.

However, the Chief of the General Staff emphasized that the military is also "preparing surprises for the enemy" to which they will not anticipate. He explained to the commanders that all the IDF's resources and means will be at their disposal to determine the outcome of the battle. The Chief of Staff asked the commanders to remember the massacre that took place and the many casualties from two weeks ago, on the seventh of October, and said that they should carry this memory with them to the battlefield and use it to make decisions.
