Benjamin Netanyahu meeting Donald Trump: Here's what's on the agenda
The Prime Minister is set to meet tomorrow with the President at 6 PM Israel time, to discuss a number of vital issues for both countries.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet tomorrow (Monday) with President Donald Trump at 6 PM Israel time to discuss the matter of tariffs, Iran, and the hostages still held by Hamas, according to reports in the Israeli media.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich reportedly spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the matter of the tariffs imposed on Israel on April 2 by Trump's executive order. Smotrich presented Netanyahu with the consequences of being hit with 17% US tariffs in order to prevent harm to the Israeli economy.
Israel eliminated 99% of tariffs on American goods as part of a free trade agreement signed in 1985. In order to avoid being hit with tariffs imposed by President Trump, Netanyahu and Smotrich removed the remaining 1% of tariffs shortly before Trump's executive order.
However, Trump's executive order was based not on tariffs but on trade deficits - any country selling more to the United States than buying from it was hit - and was thus hit with 17% tariffs, nonetheless.
In addition to tariffs, Netanyahu will reportedly be discussing the matter of Iran. The United States has been moving more and more strategic bombers into the Middle East to prepare for a possible powerful strike on the country's nuclear weapons sites if it does not agree to a deal.
For its part, Iran has repeatedly threatened to his US bases and countries hosting those bases if the United States does indeed launch such a strike, either with or without Israeli assistance.
Israel continues to place military pressure on Hamas with the hope of forcing them to free the remaining hostages on Israel's terms - including the disarmament of Hamas and the exile of its leaders. Thus far, Hamas has suffered multiple blows but has refused to yield on their demands that Israel end the war, withdraw entirely, and leave them in charge while the Gaza Strip is rebuilt with international aid money.
