Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office released a strong condemnation tonight (Sunday) of the Shin Bet following recordings showing that the heads of its "Jewish division" were determined to arrest and abuse suspected "extremist" settlers without any legal basis.

According to recordings revealed on Israeli media tonight, the heads of the Shin Bet's Jewish division openly spoke of flouting the Supreme Court's orders and the law in order to break up assemblies of "those scumbags" in Yitzhar and elsewhere and try and provoke them into breaking the law so they could be thrown into jail.

According to the Prime Minister's office, which openly objects to the idea that Shin Bet head Ronen Bar - who was unanimously dismissed by the government but whose dismissal is pending a Supreme Court case - could possibly conduct a fair inquiry into these revelations:

"Tonight, additional shocking recordings are being revealed of blackmail threats by the deputy head of the Jewish Division in the Shin Bet against police officer Avishai Moalem.

"Avishai Moalem refused to cooperate with the demand of the head of the Jewish Division in the Shin Bet to carry out false arrests of Israeli citizens, and upheld the law.

"Afterward, he was suddenly arrested on suspicion of corruption, with the approval of the Attorney General.

"This is further evidence of the corrupt conduct of the Jewish Division in the Shin Bet under Ronen Bar, in full cooperation with the Attorney General.

"Ronen Bar and Gali Baharav-Miara, who have a years-long connection, fabricated a case against police officer Moalem, and are now working together to prevent Bar's dismissal.

"The political investigations must stop immediately.

"Ronen Bar, who failed terribly on October 7th and has since lost the trust of the entire government, must stop entrenching himself in his position and vacate his post immediately."
