Minister Yariv Levin is Actually Pleased: "Things Can No Longer Be Hidden"
"The selective enforcement and criminal use of law enforcement authorities for political and personal purposes have become the left's method to harm its opponents and thwart any change in state systems, particularly in the justice system. All this could not have happened unless they knew they had backing," claimed Minister Levin.

The following was released for publication this morning (Tuesday): the Police Internal Investigations Department and the Shin Bet have opened an investigation following a document leaked to Channel 12 commentator Amit Segal, which revealed an order from Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar to investigate the spread of Kahanism in the police under the tenure of Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Yariv Levin responded harshly.
Levin wrote a short time ago: "Former IDF Chief of Staff Dan Halutz wildly incites against the Prime Minister knowing he has immunity from law enforcement systems, and the Shin Bet chief behaves as if he has a private intelligence organization that can conduct a political witch hunt."
"This is not coincidental," Levin believes, "The selective enforcement and criminal use of law enforcement authorities for political and personal purposes have become the left's method to harm its opponents and thwart any change in state systems, particularly in the justice system. All this could not have happened unless they knew they had backing from Supreme Court judges. And so the system works - whoever supports the Supreme Court dictatorship receives immunity, and whoever seeks democracy faces misuse of the powerful tools of law enforcement systems against them."
According to him, "What is happening here is terrible, but not new. What has changed is that since I put the truth on the table two years ago, things can no longer be hidden. More and more brave people are coming forward and exposing what is really happening here today, and what has happened here secretly for many long years."
Levin is actually optimistic: "We are in a process of enormous change. We are witnessing moments when those who were accustomed to thinking the state belongs only to them are clinging with all their might to their positions and authorities they took for themselves contrary to all law."
In conclusion, he wrote: "The address is one - the Supreme Court. The message is clear - you are not above the law. You too are required to respect the people's decision. These are days of freedom. This time - we will not give up!"
Opposition leader Yair Lapid responded: "The government of Israel is a government of criminals attacking investigators who are examining offenses against state security. Their attacks on law enforcement agencies are an attempt to divert attention from the Qatar Gate affair investigation. The State of Israel has only one army, one police force, one Shin Bet, and one Mossad. They have a chain of command and they have rules that govern them."
He also wrote: "Ronen Bar is a person who has dedicated his life to Israel's security. The threats against him are a dangerous incitement against him and Shin Bet personnel whose fighters protect the state's security. The government ministers' relentless attempts to dismantle security organizations weakens the state and endangers the national and personal security of every citizen in the State of Israel."
