Iran confirms: We will meet this Saturday in Oman with U.S. representatives
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed the statements of U.S. President Donald Trump at the summit meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the U.S, and Iran plan to hold talks.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Tuesday that the United States and Iran plan to hold talks this Saturday in Oman, according to the Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed website. This is confirmation of the statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump at the meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night.
The Iranian foreign minister added on X that the talks between the United States and Iran are a test, and that the progress of the negotiations depends on the American superpower: "This is as much an opportunity as it is a test. The ball is in the court of the United States."
Iran's former chief negotiator, Hossein Moussabian, tweeted that Araghchi would conduct the negotiations in the Arab country with Trump's U.S. envoy to the Middle East, Steve Whitkoff. In addition, Mousavian said that the sides would first start indirect negotiations that would become direct if the talks progress in a positive way.
During a joint statement with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night, Trump announced that the United States would begin direct negotiations with Iran as early as Saturday — possibly through Secretary of State Rubio or through Envoy Witkoff, after he made it clear that he and Netanyahu had reached understandings on the Iranian issue, adding, "We'll see where it leads."
However, in response to reporters present at the event, the president stressed, "I think that if the talks with Iran fail, Iran will be in great danger," and then clarified, "It cannot have nuclear weapons. At the moment, there are countries that have nuclear power, and they are not allowed to. I am sure that we will be able to negotiate, but if the talks do not succeed, it will be very bad for Iran."
