IDF Spokesperson in Arabic tours southern Syria
Adraee said that Israel has no intention of being involved in Syria's internal politics, but that it would not tolerate any threat to the country's security.

IDF Spokesperson in Arabic Avichai Adraee released photos of himself touring the Syrian side of the border with Israel, smiling and sending a message to people living in Syria.
According to the official statement, Adraee was taking "a tour of southern Syria, where IDF forces are deployed in the forward defensive security zone inside Syrian territory, with the aim of preventing potential threats and ensuring the security of Israeli citizens."
Adraee then explained that "our presence in this region enhances our ability to respond quickly to any security scenario that may arise as a result of the internal situation in Syria. We have no intention of interfering in Syria's internal affairs, but we will not tolerate any threat to Israel's security."
Israel has also made some moves to try and work with the Druze living in southern Syria, promising to protect them against Jihadi forces and even provide them with work opportunities in the Golan Heights, though it is not clear what came of the latter.
All representatives of the Israeli government - from the Prime Minister to the Defense and Foreign Minister - insist that Israel will remain in southern Syria to protect its borders and security, at least until the situation "stabilizes." Foreign Minister Sa'ar has openly questioned the moderation of the current Syrian government, calling it "Jihadist."
