A 19-year-old soldier from Jerusalem, Yosef Haim Tzvi Serlin, tragically passed away overnight after collapsing during a training exercise with Unit 504 in northern Israel. Serlin, who was in the midst of his training as a combat soldier, received immediate medical treatment from on-site personnel but was pronounced dead at the hospital despite resuscitation efforts.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) notified Serlin’s family of the loss and posthumously promoted him from corporal to sergeant. The Military Police have launched an investigation into his death, and they will send the results to the Military Advocate General.

“The IDF shares in the family’s sorrow and will continue to provide them with support during this difficult time,” an IDF spokesperson said.
