Al Jazeera Exposed: Why They Hide the Truth
IDF spokesperson slams Al Jazeera for ignoring Gaza protests against Hamas
IDF Spokesperson Avichay Adraee criticized Al Jazeera for ignoring protests in Gaza against Hamas' rule, pointing out the network's selective coverage. He mocked the channel's failure to broadcast the demonstrations, suggesting that if they occurred in another Arab country, Al Jazeera would have provided extensive coverage.

The IDF Spokesperson for Arab media, Avichay Adraee, took to social media to mock Al Jazeera for its failure to cover recent protests in Gaza against Hamas rule. Protests erupted in several locations in the Gaza Strip, with demonstrators voicing their opposition to the ruling terrorist group. Despite these significant events, Al Jazeera, a Qatar-based media outlet known for its widespread coverage of Arab affairs, refrained from airing the demonstrations.
Adraee, in a post on social media platform X, pointed out the stark contrast in Al Jazeera’s coverage, noting that if protests like these had taken place in any other Arab capital, the network would have provided extensive coverage. He sarcastically remarked that "when the protests break out against Hamas in Gaza, suddenly there are no cameras, no broadcasts," suggesting that the network selectively chooses not to cover actions that go against Hamas. He further criticized the channel's coverage and its failure to address the issue, saying, "There are no exclusive images, no analysis, and no incitement, not even from reporters like Sa’ad Ziyad, who have been known for pushing Gaza's children into battle."
The criticisms from Adraee were fueled by Al Jazeera's apparent editorial decision to ignore voices of dissent in Gaza. A notable incident involved an Al Jazeera journalist cutting off a Gazan citizen who, in an interview, expressed concern that his home might be looted by individuals allegedly supported by Hamas. The reporter interrupted the individual, preventing him from completing his statement, which raised questions about the network's editorial approach.
The protests in Gaza, which highlighted growing opposition to Hamas' authoritarian rule, were significant because they demonstrated public discontent with the group’s policies. Yet, Al Jazeera’s reluctance to report on these events has drawn attention to the channel’s perceived bias when it comes to covering sensitive topics related to Hamas, a group closely aligned with its Qatari backers.
