The IDF says that it intercepted a drone heading towards Israel "from the east" a short time ago today (Monday). No sirens were activated "according to policy."

The likely source of the drone is the Iran-backed Houthi army, which has repeatedly attempted to launch ballistic missiles at Israel ever since the ceasefire ended. They claim to have fired a "Yafo" type drone at a target in "occupied Yafo."

The Houthis have been subject to almost a month of almost incessant American air strikes against not only strategic assets such as missiles, weapons stores, and the like but also senior Houthi leaders involved in weapons procurement and handling.

While the Houthis are still holding fast, their missile launches against Israel have been far less effective, often getting intercepted or even collapsing midflight.

There are some reports of preparations to launch a ground offensive against the Houthis with Trump's indirect backing in CNN, but these reports are vague and lacking in specifics in terms of the forces involved or the timetable for the attack.

In the meantime, Israel has held back and avoided striking Yemen for firing missiles and drones at it, leave the air strikes up to the United States.
