Earlier today, the IDF and Shin Bet struck northern Gaza, eliminating the terrorist Mohammed Hassan Mohammed Awad, a military commander in the intelligence apparatus closely tied to senior members of the "Kata'ib al-Mujahideen" terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip.
Mohammed Awad raided Nir Oz multiple times on October 7, was one of the leaders of the massacre, and was likely involved in the abduction and brutal murder of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas. He was also involved in managing the abduction and burial of Gad Haggai and Judy Lynn Weinstein. Among other things, he was also involved in managing the abduction of citizens of Thai origin.
In addition, as part of his role in the terrorist organization, Mohammed Awad was engaged until his death in recruiting terror operatives in Judea and Samaria and within Israel, through whom he promoted and executed attacks against Israelis.
During the war, the "Kata'ib al-Mujahideen" terrorist organization, and Mohammed Awad in particular, were involved in carrying out attacks against Israel and IDF forces operating in the Gaza Strip.
The Shin Bet and IDF will continue to act decisively to locate and neutralize all terrorists from various terrorist organizations who took part in the murderous massacre on October 7.
