Israel is reportedly preparing plans for directly providing humanitarian aid and relief to Gaza civilians in a way that would prevent Hamas from stealing and reselling or keeping it for themselves, according to a report today (Tuesday) by Israel Hayom.

According to the report, the IDF is considering a plan to establish logistical centers in both the north and south of the Gaza Strip. Aid would be provided by foreign NGOs or Palestinians who have been cleared to work by the IDF.

This would ostensibly ensure that IDF soldiers would not be put at risk while preventing the terrorist organization from keeping itself afloat with supplies and money by either keeping much of the aid or reselling it at inflated prices. Thus far, people working for the UN have refused to provide possible names for the operation.

This plan, if put into action, is part of a continued effort by Israel to deny Hamas its sources of power. During the war and especially during the ceasefire, stealing and stocking or reselling aid helped keep its terrorists supplied and properly paid, which is why Israel declared an end to aid after the first phase of the current hostage deal.
