Houthi missiles keep crashing: Here's why
Despite the many attempts by the Houthis from Yemen, the missiles they launch toward Israel are failing to penetrate Israeli airspace. Here's why.

Since the beginning of the war, about a year and a half ago, hundreds of missiles have been launched from Yemen toward Israel by the Houthi rebel terrorist organization. Unlike the first months of the war, when the Houthis managed to penetrate Israeli airspace, in recent weeks we've witnessed that no launches from Yemen have successfully reached Israel.
According to a report on Channel 12 News today (Wednesday), the reason is simple: an airtight aerial defense system managed by Israel and the United States, together with additional allies.
According to the report, whose details were cleared for publication by the censor, the defensive array includes the massive American radar facility on Mount Keren in the Negev, Aegis systems aboard American destroyers patrolling the Red Sea and Persian Gulf, radars operated by Israel's allies, and advanced Israeli detection capabilities. Information from all these sources undergoes a "fusion" process that produces an accurate picture of the threat and its trajectory. Just as with the Houthis, this will also happen in a confrontation with Iran.
According to data from the air defense systems, detection occurs almost immediately, within seconds of launch. "Without detection there is no warning, without detection there is no interception," explains Brigadier General (Res.) Zvika Haimovich, former commander of the Israeli Air Force's air defense array. He detailed that the process of information processing and assessing the trajectory and threat takes about a minute. From the moment of launch, ballistic missiles from Yemen could reach Israel within about 15 minutes, traveling at approximately 6,000 km/h.
