The rebranding of Hamas
UNPRECEDENTED: Hamas issues request to UK government to lift terror designation
Despite being designated a terror group in Britain, Hamas calls itself a peaceful liberation movement and demands de-listing; British Home Office remains silent on the appeal.

Hamas has submitted a request to the British government to remove it from its list of terrorist organizations, according to a British report published last night (Wednesday) in the daily newspaper "The Guardian". Hamas claims it does not pose a threat to Britain.
Hamas filed a legal case according to which it should be removed from the British government's list of banned terrorist groups. They claim that it is not a terrorist group, but rather a "Palestinian Islamic liberation and resistance movement whose goal is to liberate Palestine and confront the Zionist project."
The statement was included in a witness statement by Musa Abu Marzouq, head of Hamas' international relations and the applicant for the prosecution to British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, published by Drop Site News. "The British government's decision to ban Hamas is an unjust decision."
According to them, the determination that Hamas is a terrorist organization "is symptomatic of its unwavering support for Zionism, apartheid, occupation and ethnic cleansing in Palestine for more than a century. Hamas has not, and never has been, a threat to Britain, despite the latter's continued complicity in the genocide of our people." The British Home Office has not commented on the matter.
Interestingly, Hamas's request was addressed to Britain at a time when it is rightly defined as a terrorist organization in many countries, including the United States, the European Union, Canada, Australia, Jordan, Japan, Norway, Iceland and Paraguay. The states' decision came about because all of Hamas's branches are directly or indirectly used for the same murderous goals defined in the Hamas charter, first and foremost the elimination of the State of Israel and the establishment of an Islamic state in its place.
Previous investigations have revealed that Hamas has established itself well in Britain, established institutions and foundations, conducts extensive "diplomatic" activity, enjoys a well-oiled Muslim Brotherhood media system, forged ties with Labour Party operatives, organized flotillas to the Gaza Strip, and all this with the involvement of activists who fled Israel and organizations that were outlawed. Only in 2021 was Hamas' political wing declared a terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, until then only the military wing was included.
