Report: Hamas Delegation to Arrive in Cairo and Discuss New Proposal for Hostage Release
A senior Hamas delegation is expected to arrive today in Cairo, where they will meet with senior Egyptian officials and discuss mediation efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza.

According to reports today (Monday) in the Arab media, the meetings between Hamas senior officials and Egyptian officials will address several issues - including the new Egyptian proposal for a partial hostage deal, which would include a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of several hostages. It was also reported that the meetings will address reconciliation contacts with the Fatah organization, following a delegation from the Palestinian organization that visited Cairo in recent days.
Meanwhile, the newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat" revealed new details about the Egyptian proposal, which they say will include the release of 8 living hostages in exchange for a cessation of fighting that would last between 40 and 70 days. According to the report, Hamas initially demanded to release only two living hostages in exchange for 50 days of ceasefire, while Israel demanded the release of some of the hostages - with the Egyptian proposal serving as a bridge designed to "meet the wishes of both sides."
