BREAKING: Sirens in Ashkelon and Ashdod; Hamas rockets mostly intercepted
Sirens have sounded in Ashkelon and Ashdod, as IDF soldiers say they could see the rocket fire from the Gaza Strip.


Sirens have sounded in Ashdod and Ashkelon a short time ago today (Sunday) warning of Hamas rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, as the IDF said that "the details are being examined."
Amit Segal said that IDF soldiers have reported the rocket fire from the Gaza Strip.
The IDF's initial statement said that sirens have been activated in the Lachish region, and that the "details are being examined."
Hamas has taken responsibility for the rocket fire towards Ashdod.
Magen David Adom reports no casualties from the rockets so far.
Fragments of a rocket interceptor have reportedly shown up in the town of Gav Yavneh.
Gazan sources report the rocket fire came from Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
The IDF now reports that about ten rockets were fired at Israel, most of which were intercepted. The army said that the "details are being examined."
The Mayor of Ashkelon reports that one rocket hit the city, causing property damage. There is also one person who was very lightly injured, though no additional details were provided.
Magen David Adom reports a number of people suffering from anxiety or who were injured while rushing to shelter; no direct casualties from the rockets have been reported.
The Mayor of Yavneh reports that interceptor fragments struck a porch inside the city, but that no casualties were reported.
Barzilai Hospital reports 27 injured admitted by the hospital: 17 anxiety cases, 7 wounded from shrapnel, one wounded in the eyes, two injured from running to shelter. All are lightly injured.
