Commander of the Fallen Soldiers Identification Unit Summarizes 450 Days of Operations

The Fallen Soldiers Identification Unit has operated for 450 days since October 7, handled 889 fallen soldiers, 355 incidents, 3,811 findings, and 2,200 memorial services.

The commander of the Fallen Soldiers Identification Unit published a letter to the unit's soldiers ahead of Passover, summarizing their activities since the events of October 7, 2023.

The unit, which was mobilized immediately at the beginning of the events, has continuously operated for more than 450 days in missions handling casualties from the disaster and war casualties from all combat zones.

In the summary video sent by the unit commander to his soldiers, data was presented reflecting the scope of the complex and sensitive work performed by the unit: handling 355 different incidents, identifying and treating 889 fallen soldiers, examining and processing 3,811 various findings, and accompanying approximately 2,200 memorial services.

The unit's activities included intensive work under difficult conditions, both in various combat zones and on the home front, while maintaining the dignity of the fallen and accompanying bereaved families.
