Secret Talks with Hamas Aim to Free Hostages
U.S. continues negotiations with Hamas to release 10 hostages, all without Israel’s involvement
The United States is pushing forward with an initiative to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas, but without Israeli involvement.

According to an Israeli source, the U.S. has been negotiating with Hamas through intermediaries, including Egypt and Qatar, aiming to secure the release of ten living hostages. In return, Hamas has reportedly requested a two-month extension of the ceasefire in Gaza.
The Israeli source confirmed that these negotiations are being conducted without Israel’s participation, noting that the talks are taking place “above our heads.” This has raised concerns in Israel, especially as the country is not involved in the discussions regarding the hostages' release.
Earlier reports indicated that a Hamas spokesperson had expressed "positive signs" regarding ongoing discussions. According to the spokesperson, the next phase of the deal might include Israel’s full withdrawal from Gaza. The United States has been directly engaging with Hamas, aiming to negotiate the release of American citizens still being held by the terrorist group.
The focus of the talks includes the possibility of a broader agreement to release all 59 hostages, both alive and deceased, which could ultimately lead to a permanent end to the conflict. U.S. officials, including White House Press Secretary Karoline Levitt, have confirmed that the U.S. has been in direct talks with Hamas, although details about the progress of these discussions remain unclear.
The negotiations are unfolding amid a tense situation, with Israel left out of the process, raising concerns over the potential implications for the broader conflict and Israel's security interests.
