Saudi Arabia has signaled its willingness to mediate between the Trump administration and Iran in an effort to negotiate a new agreement aimed at limiting Tehran’s nuclear ambitions, CNN reported Sunday.

The report suggests that Riyadh is increasingly alarmed by the possibility of Iran accelerating its pursuit of nuclear weapons, particularly as its regional proxies have suffered major setbacks. With its strong ties to President Donald Trump, Saudi Arabia hopes to act as a diplomatic intermediary between Washington and Tehran.

While it remains uncertain whether Saudi Arabia has officially proposed a mediation effort, the move underscores Riyadh’s desire to capitalize on its improving relations with Iran and play a pivotal role in shaping any potential nuclear deal.

When approached by CNN, both the U.S. State Department and the Saudi foreign ministry declined to comment, while Iran’s mission to the United Nations in New York also offered no response.
