IDF Admits Violation of ceasefire
IAF Strikes Hezbollah Sites in Lebanon, Due to Imminent Terror Threat
In a precise military operation early Friday morning, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) targeted two Hezbollah military sites in Lebanese territory, which the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed were in violation of the ceasefire agreement.

The strike, conducted under the direction of the IDF’s Intelligence Directorate, aimed to neutralize Hezbollah’s military infrastructure that posed a threat to Israel’s security.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit emphasized that the attack was part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to remove any threat to the State of Israel. The statement reaffirmed the IDF’s commitment to preventing Hezbollah from rebuilding its forces, in line with the ceasefire understandings that had been previously agreed upon.
According to reports from Lebanese media, the strikes took place in southern and eastern parts of Lebanon, including the Baalbek region. An Israeli official confirmed that the airstrike targeted sites deep inside Lebanon. The strikes were reportedly in response to attempts by Hezbollah to transfer weapons from Syria and establish new outposts along the Lebanese-Syrian border.
This operation comes just one week after a similar series of airstrikes by the IAF, also directed by IDF intelligence, which targeted multiple Hezbollah positions in the Beqaa Valley. These sites, which included underground infrastructure used for weapon manufacturing and terrorist operations, were deemed to pose a direct threat to both Israel’s civilian population and IDF troops stationed in the region. Additionally, the strikes targeted Hezbollah’s smuggling routes used to bring weaponry into Lebanon from Syria.
The IDF’s actions have raised concerns regarding the continued breach of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon. According to the terms of the ceasefire, Israel was expected to transfer control of the territories it had captured by January 26. However, Lebanon’s inability to deploy sufficient forces to take control of the areas has led to a delay in the agreement’s implementation. As a result, the White House announced that the ceasefire would be extended until February 18 to allow for further negotiations and ensure the agreement is upheld.
The IDF’s actions underline the ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, as both sides continue to monitor and respond to perceived threats despite the ceasefire agreement. The situation remains fluid, with Israel remaining vigilant against any future attempts by Hezbollah to undermine the terms of the ceasefire.
